Right now this website does one thing with personal information: it lets you join the DopaGames waitlist. This policy explains what we collect when you do, why, where it's kept, and how to get it deleted. We've tried to write it in plain language.

Who we are

DopaGames is run by Ethos AI, Tucson, AZ. We're the "controller" of the information described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy atprivacy@dopa.games.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we store:

• Your email address.
• Whether you joined as a player or a developer.
• When you signed up.

That's all. We don't ask for your name, and we don't use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or third-party trackers on this site. Our fonts are served from our own site, so loading a page doesn't send your details to a font provider either.

Bot protection. To keep automated spam off the waitlist, the signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. When you use the form, Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser and connection, such as your IP address, to tell people from bots. Cloudflare uses this only to run that check, not for advertising, and we don't store any of it with your waitlist entry.

Like any website, the servers that deliver this site see technical information such as your IP address and browser type when you visit. We don't store that alongside your waitlist entry. Our hosting provider (see below) processes it briefly to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Why we use it

• To email you when the beta opens (players) or when it's your turn for Founding Dev onboarding (developers).
• To know how many players and developers are waiting, so we can plan onboarding waves.

We only use your email for these purposes. We won't send you unrelated marketing, and we will never sell or rent your information to anyone.

Legal basis (for readers in the EU and UK): we rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the waitlist form. You can withdraw it at any time. See "Your choices and rights" below.

Where it's stored, and who can see it

This site and the waitlist database are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., using Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare D1. Cloudflare acts as our service provider (a "processor") and handles the data only to run these services for us. Cloudflare runs a global network, so your information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, Cloudflare relies on recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Only the DopaGames team can access the waitlist. If we later use an email service to send the invite, we'll update this policy to name it before we use it. [name the email provider here once chosen]

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist entry until we've sent your invite and you've had a chance to create an account, and in any case for no longer than [12 months after public launch]. After that we delete it. We also delete it straight away if you ask us to.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to delete your email, tell you what we hold about you, or correct it. Emailprivacy@dopa.games from the address you signed up with. We'll reply within 30 days, usually much faster. Every email we send you will also include a way to unsubscribe.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

• withdraw your consent at any time. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it;
• get a copy of your information in a portable format;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
• complain to a data protection authority. In the EU, that's the one in your country; in the UK, it's the Information Commissioner's Office.

California residents: we don't sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. You have the right to know, delete and correct your information, and we won't treat you differently for using those rights.

Children

The waitlist isn't meant for children under 16. If you believe a child has joined, email us and we'll delete the entry.

Security

Your information is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in Cloudflare's managed database. Access is limited to the DopaGames team. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affected your information, we'd tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

When DopaGames launches its store and desktop app, we'll collect more (for example, account and purchase details), and we'll publish an expanded policy before that happens. If we make a significant change that affects the waitlist, we'll email the people on it. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
